Tekmetric's September 2024 Product Rundown

In September 2024, Tekmetric released new features to enhance operational efficiency, including customizable templated customer messages for Scale Tier users with Tekmessage, streamlined multi-shop employee management via the MSO dashboard for multi-shop add-on customers, and an Inventory Activity Feed that automatically logs stock orders and purchase updates for all users.

This month, Tekmetric focused on operational efficiency to help you save time in messaging customers, managing employees, and staying on top of your inventory. Here are the latest features and updates:

Save Time With Template Messages

Effective communication is vital to a high-quality customer experience, but it can be time-consuming and repetitive. Tekmetric has introduced templated messages. Your top three most-used customer messages (inspection, estimate, and invoice) can now be customized to fit your shop’s communication needs and voice. These are fully customizable, and you can create additional message templates as needed.

Who’s this for? Customers on the Scale Tier with Tekmessage enabled.

Manage Employees Easily Across Your Shops

For shops with employees working across multiple locations, managing them is now easier. Two new releases allow you to seamlessly create, move between shops, and delete employees directly from the MSO dashboard, eliminating the need to switch between each shop’s profile.

Who’s this for? Customers with the multi-shop add-on package.

Manage Inventory More Effectively With The Inventory Feed

Managing inventory effectively is crucial for shop operations. The new Inventory Activity Feed automatically logs stock orders, parts moved into inventory, and purchase order cost updates, helping shops stay on top of pricing and quality changes.

Who’s this for? All customers.

See Continuous Improvement of Our ALLDATA Integration

Tekmetric launched its ALLDATA integration in August, providing another option for labor guide integration. Recent improvements include the addition of vehicle specification information and a search bar for easier navigation.

Who’s this for? Customers on the Grow and Scale Tiers who integrate with the ALLDATA labor guide.

FAQ

What is SOC 2 Compliance?

SOC 2 compliance is considered the “gold standard” in security compliance, awarded in accordance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) standards for SOC for Service Organizations (SSAE 18). Tekmetric is one of the first auto repair shop management systems to achieve SOC 2 compliance, ensuring the safeguarding of sensitive information for both auto repair shops and their customers.

Why is Auto Parts Inventory Management Important?

Ordering too many parts ties up money and space in inventory, while ordering too few can halt projects while waiting for deliveries. Auto parts inventory management helps you decide when to buy, store, use, or sell auto parts, ensuring items are in stock when needed. Tracking parts and streamlining reordering or replacement processes helps your shop run more efficiently and saves time.

How Can Data Help My Auto Repair Shop?

Understanding and leveraging your shop’s data can transform your business through informed decision-making, financial health monitoring, and strategic planning. Tekmetric’s shop management system provides tools to run reports, monitor performance, and make strategic decisions to increase efficiency and profitability.

1. Identify Business Objectives

Start by clearly defining your goals, such as improving customer satisfaction, increasing sales, or optimizing operations. Establish specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress.

2. Analyze Data & Establish Baselines

Collect detailed information about your business, such as customer demographics, parts usage, technician efficiency, and sales trends. Establish baselines using historical data to set benchmarks for evaluating progress.

3. Make Data-Driven Decisions

Use data insights to inform business strategies. For example, shops sending eight to twelve photos to customers on over 50% of repair orders achieve a higher average repair order (ARO). Tekmetric’s reporting tools help identify trends and implement growth strategies.

4. Monitor and Review Progress Regularly

Create regular reports to track KPIs and measure the impact of data-driven decisions. Stay agile and be prepared to pivot strategies based on real-time data and industry changes.
