How Does Text-to-Pay Work? – Tekmetric
Tekmetric's Text-to-Pay feature enables customers to remotely pay invoices by receiving a payment link via text or email, selecting a payment method, entering payment details, authorizing the transaction with a signature if paying by card, and then having the payment and signature securely stored and recorded within Tekmetric, with notifications sent to the business and payment details displayed on the repair order for record-keeping.
An inherent benefit of using Tekmetric Payments is the Text-to-Pay feature. This allows your customers to pay from anywhere after you send them the invoice link. Below is an overview of what you and your customers experience when making a remote payment.
How Customers Pay Over the Phone
- 1.Once the work is completed by your technicians, you share the invoice via text or email.
- 2.Your customers will see a Make Payment option when they open the invoice link.
- 3.They tap the Make Payment button from the invoice, choose their method of payment, enter their payment information, and tap Make Payment in the payment modal.
- 4.If customers are paying by card, they will be prompted to sign for payment. They then tap Authorize $XX.XX to confirm the signature.
- 5.The payment and signature are stored within Tekmetric, and your customers will see the amount deducted from the amount due on their invoice.
- 6.Back in Tekmetric, you'll receive a notification that the payment has been received. You can click the notification to review the RO.
- Note: If you aren't seeing these, make sure to review your Notifications settings and opt into "Customer paid via Text-to-Pay."
- 7.On the RO, the payment shows up in the transactions table on the Payment screen. If paid by card, the payment method shown will be Card Not Present.
- 8.The payment signature, along with the work authorization signature (if captured via terminal or tablet), will appear on the invoice that you can print for your and/or your customers' records.
